No. The Pro is part of our Classic Series and works with the free Nexar Classic app. You get unlimited cloud backup for incident clips, automatic collision detection, and clip sharing.
The Pro has two cameras (one facing the road, one facing the cabin) in a single unit. The Beam GPS is a single road-facing camera. Other than that, they share the same legacy platform: same Nexar Classic app, same WiFi-to-phone pairing, same GPS-on-every-clip behavior. Choose Pro if you want both road and cabin on record; Beam GPS if you only need the road.
The Pro pairs with your phone over WiFi, and your phone handles the streaming, alerts, and cloud sync. The Beam2 is our connected camera with built-in LTE, so it can send real-time alerts and stream live without needing your phone nearby. The Pro is our classic two-camera option, ideal if you want both road and cabin on record and you are comfortable pairing it to your phone.
When the Pro feels a sudden brake or impact, it saves a clip from both cameras. The next time your phone connects to the camera, that clip uploads to your Nexar Classic account. You can watch it, download it, or send it from the app.
The Pro records over the oldest footage on your microSD card as new footage comes in. Anything flagged as an incident is protected from being overwritten. It supports microSD cards up to 256 GB (Class 10 recommended). An SD card is included in the box.
Yes. The Nexar Classic app works on iPhone (iOS 14 and newer) and most modern Android phones. The Pro doesn't work with Apple CarPlay.
The Pro logs where you went, how fast, and what time. If something happens, the app's post-collision report shows your speed, G-force, and exact location alongside the clip, the kind of detail an insurance adjuster will ask for.
Yes. While you're away, the Pro's g-sensor watches for impacts to the car. If it gets bumped, the camera wakes up and records. For continuous parking protection, you'll need to hardwire it so it always has power.
Yes. The Pro attaches with a GPS suction-cup mount, and the camera unit pops off the mount when you want to remove it.
The Pro is rated for the same operating range as our other classic cameras, -4°F to 158°F (-20°C to 70°C), so summer heat and winter cold are both fine.
